Farmers’ Market Saturday June 3rd

With a successful opening week behind us, we look forward a fantastic year at The Market.  Mother Nature sure did cooperate with us!  This Saturday at the Farmers’ Market, you will find vegetable and bedding plants for your garden, fresh rhubarb, strawberries, asparagus, greens, and a few other early crops.  As the weeks go by, you will be seeing more farmers joining our line-up as their produce ripens.  Being a “true” farmers’ market means 100% local produce sold by our Niagara farmers.  Sometimes this means being a little patient while waiting to eat the best fruit and veggies that Niagara grows.  But it is definitely worth the wait!  As always, jams, jellies, natural soaps and body products, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, and much more will be available from our vendors. Our musical entertainment this Saturday is by Nicole Coward; Nicole is a new artist at the Market, and we are looking forward to hearing her.  Coming up on June 10th is our first Fermentation Workshop of the season with nutritionist Meghann Riley.  To sign up to learn how to make Fermented Sauerkraut, call Meghann at 289-696-1341 or go to http://www.meghannriley.com/events/.  And don’t forget that we have a “Cookbook Lending Library” at the Farmers’ Market this season- bring an old one from home, and take “new-to-you” one back with you!  Grab a cup of coffee and pastry, or one of the gourmet breakfast choices from Your Farm Gate, pull up a seat at a picnic table, and enjoy the music.

The weather looks fantastic this Saturday, and we are looking forward to sharing good food, good friends, and good community with you.

The Market is located at 111 Garrison Village Drive in Niagara-on-the-Lake (beside The Garrison House and Refuge Antiques)

Meet you @ The Market!
