The Founders Story
In response to a growing community interest in buying local produce and supporting local farmers, The Farmers’ Market @ The Village was established in 2007. John and Liz Hawley, founders of The Village in NOTL, met with Baker Ruth Anne Schriefer and Chef Tony deLuca and through their cooperative efforts the Market was born. A tent was erected on The Village property for a venue, excited local farmers jumped on board, Brian Andres took the reigns as manager, and soon after, satisfied customers made the Market an important part of their weekend. We’ve been growing ever since. Our Saturday Farmers’ Market features the best in local fruits and veggies, locally produced gourmet foods, and artisanal craft items. The Wednesday evening SupperMarket features 20+ gourmet food trucks/food vendors, local wine, beer, and cider, and local music.
