SupperMarket this Week & Car Seat Clinic on Saturday

At SupperMarket on this August 23rd, we welcome back crowd favourite Rusty Jacob.  They always put on a great show, entertaining with favourites from then and now.  Rancourt and Jackson Triggs wineries, The Exchange and Oast House, and Lowrey Bros. Cider will be open for business, and with our 20+ food vendors, there’s sure to be something that you haven’t had a chance to try yet this season!  There’s plenty of seating at one of our colourful picnic tables, or bring your own chairs and picnic blankets and find a spot on the grassy area.  Mom and dad can enjoy time socializing while the kids enjoy the FREE Kids’ Zone (with a non-perishable food donation for Newark Neighbours PLEASE) The activities are open weekly from 6-8pm, providing entertainment for young families.  Niagara Nature Tours activity on the 23rd is “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”  Kid’s Zone is sponsored by The Market @ The Village, Niagara Inflatables, and Niagara Nature Tours.  Ample SupperMarket parking can be found in the lot off of Niven Road.  If you are in need of parking for handicapped or elderly, simply pull into the main parking lot, and our incredible parking attendant Jimi will show you to your reserved parking spot.  Hope to see you on Wednesday!

Car Seat Clinic

SAVE THE DATE- SATURDAY AUGUST 26TH 9am – 11am

The Notl Safety Committee in conjunction with St. John’s Ambulance will be holding a free Car Seat Clinic at the Farmers’ Market on Saturday August 26th, just in time for back-to-school! Stop by to have your seat and installation inspected, receive safety tips, and have the peace of mind that your precious cargo is being safely transported.

 

Canada 150 Show & Fire Trucks@ SupperMarket on Wednesday

For a lively community event, the Wednesday evening SupperMarket is the place to be!  This Wednesday, the SupperMarket presents the NOTL Canada 150 Confederation Celebration.  This travelling show has entertained audiences at various events throughout Niagara on the Lake this season, and we are we pleased to host the travelling show at the SupperMarket. In addition, on the SupperMarket stage, Mel Monaco’s fabulous energy and sound can be enjoyed by all.  The NOTL Fire Department will displaying Ladder 1 and their antique fire truck tomorrow night at the SupperMarket, launching the 2018 Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment. They welcome residents of Niagara-on-the-Lake, St. Davids, Virgil, Queenston, and Glendale to visit them at the SupperMarket tomorrow night for more information. Stop by to say hello to them, and let the kids check out the cool trucks!

Wines from Diamond & Coyote’s Run, beer from Silversmith and Oast, and cider from Ironwood will be ready to quench your thirst, and the Niagara Region Water Wagon will be providing free, cold drinking water.   And the food……….with 20+ food vendors and trucks, you will find everything from gourmet burgers and fries to mouthwatering ethnic foods to pulled pork and brisket, many vegetarian/vegan options, and absolutely everything in between!  A fun evening for the whole family; bring a picnic blanket and chairs, kick back and relax.  The FREE (with a non-perishable food donation to Newark Neighbours)  Kid’s Zone will be open from 6-8pm, sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village.  This week’s nature activity is “Let’s Make A Volcano”- now, that sounds like FUN!! Join us to celebrate summer in Niagara every Wednesday evening 4:30 pm until 9 pm until September 20th.

The Ponies are Coming To SupperMarket Wednesday August 9th

Join us at Niagara’s social event of the week; SupperMarket on Wednesday August 9th is going to be deliciously fun.  Enjoy the live music by Buster & Babbles, have a pint from Silversmith or The Exchange; Ironwood will have their delicious local cider, and Marynissen & Small Talk will have the perfect wine to match with your meal.  Of course, our gourmet food vendors will be ready to serve their delectable dishes.  Mom and Dad can enjoy time socializing with friends while the kids enjoy the FREE (with a non-perishable food donation to Newark Neighbours) “Kids Zone”.  As a special treat on August 9th, Last Chance Horse & Pony Rescue will be offering rides to young children for a donation of $5/ride. All proceeds will go directly back to the upkeep of the horse rescue facility. The activities are open weekly from 6-8pm, and are sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village.  At this week’s nature activity, the kids can learn about all leaves, and make a leaf rubbing.

Farmers’ Market Saturday August 5th

The Saturday Farmers’ Market is bursting with colour, as we are at the height of our season here in Niagara.  Juicy plums, apricots, cherries, peaches and nectarines are in abundance, in addition to wonderfully crisp leafy vegetables, beets, beans, potatoes, and so much more.  As always, breakfast will be available from Your Farm Gate, amazing baked goods and hot coffee & tea from Sweets & Swirls, jams, pickles, and preserves, eggs, meat and fish, as well as deli meats, smoked trout from Milford Bay, and more.  We have musical entertainment this week with Cory Cruise.  Don’t forget about our Cook Book Lending Library set up every Saturday- bring a used one from home, and take a “new-to-you” one back home! SupperMarket Wednesday August 2nd

It is getting far too hot to cook at home, so let our food vendors do it for you,!  Relax, grab a refreshment, and take in the band.  The first SupperMarket of August, on Wednesday the 2nd features musical entertainment by Nick Serbina, wines from Marynissen & Palatine, beer from Oast House and The Exchange, local cider from Lowrey Bros., and of course, gourmet food from our incredibly creative food trucks and food vendors.    Come early to grab a spot at one of our colourful picnic tables or stand up barrels, or bring your own chairs and picnic blanket.  As always, we welcome you to bring your own acrylic wine glass from home, or purchase a reusable GoVino glass for $2.  There is ample parking in the lot off of Niven Road, or the lot behind the Garrison House.

SupperMarket on Wednesday July 26th is going to be fantastic; we welcome country musician Chelsea Crites to the stage. As always, our fantastic food vendors will be ready to serve you their mouth-watering creations.  The wineries next week will be Pondview and Hare, beer from Oast House and Silversmith, and local cider from Ironwood.  It is a good idea to bring along chairs or a picnic blanket, as the tables and stand-up barrels do fill up quickly. Ample parking is available in the lot off of Niven Road, and fresh, cold, free drinking water will be available this week from the Niagara Region’s Water Wagon.   Have some fun with the “Best Dressed Table” competition; stop in at the Token Sales Table to register (please bring a non-perishable food donation for Newark Neighbours to enter the contest) and deck your table out for a chance to win a fun picnic pack prize. The activities are open weekly from 6-8pm, and are sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village.  At this week’s nature activity, the kids can learn about “Get To Know Niagara’s Greenbelt”. Take a break from the mid-week grind and plan to meet up with friends at Niagara’s social event of the week.

Farmers’ Market Saturday July 22nd

At the Market, we love this time of year; the Niagara harvest is in full swing, with raspberries, cherries, apricots, plums, zucchini, snap peas, beans, potatoes, greens, and so much more now available.  Visit one of our local farmers this Saturday at the Market to stock up on fresh, healthy produce.  We also have locally raised, hormone free meats and eggs, smoked trout, gourmet compound butter, deli meats, jams, pickles, bread, baked goods and more available.  Stop by Saturday morning to socialize with friends over a coffee and a pastry or a farm-fresh breakfast, and relax to the sounds of local musician Shawn Devlin.

On Wednesday July 19th, prepare yourself for another great evening of food, drink, and community.  Wineries featured at SupperMarket are Ravine & Reif, beer from Silversmith and The Exchange, cider from Ironwood, and of course, a wide array of delicious food from our vendors.  Live music by Undercover this week.  As the SupperMarket grows in popularity, it is a good idea to bring a picnic blanket or chairs, or come early to grab a picnic table or stand-up barrel.  In an effort to cut down on waste, we encourage you to bring an acrylic wine glass from home, or purchase one for $2.00.  Don’t forget about the “Best Dressed Table” competition; register at the token sales table with a donation of non-perishable food for Newark Neighbours, and get creative for a chance to win a fantastic picnic pack!  The SupperMarket runs every Wednesday until September 21st from 4:30 pm to 9 pm.

 

The Market @ The Village is continuing to accept donations of non-perishable food items for Newark Neighbours at both Wednesday SupperMarket and Saturday Farmers’ Market.  It is wonderful to see the support that our community gives to Newark Neighbours; this great local charity services those less fortunate that us.

 

It’s “Kids Day @ The Market” this Saturday!

NIagara inflatables obstacle

KIDS DAY @ THE MARKET
This Saturday July 15th we are holding our annual “Kids Day @ The Market”, complete with a “Turbo Zone” inflatable obstacle course, face painting, and the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre will be holding a fun Van Gogh inspired painting activity for all ages using cutlery. “Cutlery doesn’t have to be only used to eat delicious farmers’ market finds – we can also use cutlery to get creative! Join the Pumphouse to paint a Van Gogh inspired starry night sky using cutlery instead of a paintbrush!” All ages with parental supervision are welcome. Best of all, the activities at the Market this Saturday are all FREE!  Lots of kid-friendly food will be available for purchase, in addition to “Build Your Own S’Mores” with Scratch Bakery.
In addition, our regular Saturday vendors will have lots of fresh Niagara produce for you; cherries, raspberries, garlic, beets, peas, green beans, zucchini, salad greens, potatoes, and much more will be available this week.  As always, fantastic baked goods, pickles, and preserves, and fresh cut flower bouquets will add a splash of colour to any table.  Plan on spending the morning with the kids or grandkids, grab a bite of breakfast, and get your shopping done while the they partake in all of the free activities.
