SupperMarket on Wednesday June 28th is a fantastic way to break up the work week. We are looking forward to award-winning local entertainer Cory Cruise taking the stage. As always, we will have a full line up of our regular food trucks and vendors cooking up some mouth-watering dishes. Featured wineries on the 28th are Inniskillin and Hinterbrook, beer from Silversmith and The Exchange, and cider by Ironwood. For wine, be sure to bring an acrylic glass from home, or a reuseable GoVino glass can be purchased for $2. Also, the Niagara Region’s Water Wagon will be parked on site to bring cold refreshing drinking water to you. Don’t go thirsty if you forget to bring your water bottle; we have SupperMarket logo’d bottles for sale at the token tent. Mom and Dad can enjoy time socializing with friends while the kids enjoy the free (with a non-perishable food donation to Newark Neighbours) “Kids Zone”. As a special treat this week, Last Chance Horse & Pony Rescue will be offering rides to young children for a donation of $5/ride. All proceeds will go directly back to the upkeep of the horse rescue facility. The activities are open weekly from 6-8pm, and are sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village. At this week’s nature activity, the kids can learn about “Itsy Bitsy Frogs”.
With more and more farmers joining us on Saturday mornings from 8 to 1, there are so many delicious reasons to attend The Farmers’ Market @ The Village this weekend. We will have new potatoes, strawberries, asparagus, beets, radishes, greens, and more! As always, you can get your fill of freshly baked breads and sweets, jams, artisanal butter, naturally raised meat and eggs, deli meats and cheeses, bath and body products, and other delicious local items. What better way to usher in the weekend than enjoying a coffee and a pastry, or gourmet farm-to-table breakfast, while listening to the fantastic sound of local musician Jessica Wilson.
**PONY RIDES RESCHEDULED**
Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, Last Chance Horse & Pony Rescue has had to reschedule the pony rides until next week. Last Chance Horse & Pony Rescue & Sanctuary will be @ The SupperMarket on Wednesday June 28th, offering pony rides to young children for a $5 donation that will go directly back into the care of the unwanted horses and ponies in their care.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
The ever-popular SupperMarket is in full swing. Every Wednesday evening, our food trucks and food vendors are open for business from 4:30 to 9 pm. Our free (with a food donation for Newark Neighbours) “Kids Zone” sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village, will be open from 6-8 pm to keep the kiddies entertained. For our older patrons, local wines from Stratus & Chateau des Charmes will be available to purchase by the glass to compliment your food choices, beer from Oast House & The Exchange, and cider from Lowrey Bros. Entertainment on the 21st is the fun-loving Celtic Duo!

There is nothing like strawberry season in Niagara. Those delicious, vitamin packed berries will be at the Farmers’ Market this Saturday, and promise to make more appearances in the weeks to come. They certainly do steal the show! Here in Niagara and at the Market, we are still enjoying local rhubarb, asparagus, lettuce, chard, and collard greens, and every week more and more farmers are joining us as their crops ripen. As always, we have naturally raised meats, eggs, jams and preserves, made-to-order floral bouquets, fresh-baked breads, pies, and desserts. The musical entertainment this week is by award-winning Cory Cruise (how fitting that he play on Car Show Day!) Remember that The Market @ The Village is a true Farmers’ Market, selling only local produce grown by our local Niagara farmers. When you buy local, you are putting money back into our community.

You are in for a special treat at SupperMarket on June 14th! For the first time, you will be entertained by Kobbler Jay. “He has the energy of ten puppies – with none of the mess. He performs the fastest and most furious apple juggling routine you are ever likely to see, and can gracefully walk barefoot on broken glass while juggling flaming torches. Take all of that and combine it with his talent for tossing knives atop a terrifying tower of tables treacherously teetering on a tube and you end up with a show that you simply cannot miss!” We are SO looking forward to this alternate entertainment! You can take in the Kobbler Jay show while dining on gourmet food from one of our outstanding vendors, sipping on wine from Lailey or Pillitteri, beer from Oast or Silversmith, and cider from Ironwood. SupperMarket runs every Wednesday until September 20th from 4:30pm to 9pm
SupperMarket on Wednesday June 7th is going to be another fun evening! Take in the great sound of “Rusty Jacob” while dining on unique food from our amazing array vendors. Strewn and Rancourt wineries, and Silversmith and The Exchange breweries and also Lowrey Bros. Cider will be ready to quench your thirst. The Niagara on the Lake SupperMarket supports our local food bank Newark Neighbours. We ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation if your children are enjoying the activities in the free Kids Zone, if you are participating in the “Best Dressed Table” competition, or if you are entering the Vino Velo draw for “The Original SupperMarket” Bicycle. This original design bike will be the grand prize at the end of the SupperMarket season. Stop by the Vino Velo tent to say hi to Pam and Steve, and fill out a ballot. The Kid’s Zone will be operating weekly from 6-8pm and is sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, and The Market @ The Village. This week’s craft is Ladybug Rock Painting, and of course, the bouncy house will be open for business! Please bring a Non-Perishable Food Donation for Newark Neighbours if you are partaking in these activities. We provide the entertainment, in the hopes that you will help to support those less fortunate.
Looking forward to seeing everyone come out to share good food, good drinks, and good community. The Market is located at 111 Garrison Village Drive in Niagara-on-the-Lake (beside The Garrison House and Refuge Antiques)
Meet you @ The Market!
With a successful opening week behind us, we look forward a fantastic year at The Market. Mother Nature sure did cooperate with us! This Saturday at the Farmers’ Market, you will find vegetable and bedding plants for your garden, fresh rhubarb, strawberries, asparagus, greens, and a few other early crops. As the weeks go by, you will be seeing more farmers joining our line-up as their produce ripens. Being a “true” farmers’ market means 100% local produce sold by our Niagara farmers. Sometimes this means being a little patient while waiting to eat the best fruit and veggies that Niagara grows. But it is definitely worth the wait! As always, jams, jellies, natural soaps and body products, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, and much more will be available from our vendors. Our musical entertainment this Saturday is by Nicole Coward; Nicole is a new artist at the Market, and we are looking forward to hearing her. Coming up on June 10th is our first Fermentation Workshop of the season with nutritionist Meghann Riley. To sign up to learn how to make Fermented Sauerkraut, call Meghann at 289-696-1341 or go to http://www.meghannriley.com/events/. And don’t forget that we have a “Cookbook Lending Library” at the Farmers’ Market this season- bring an old one from home, and take “new-to-you” one back with you! Grab a cup of coffee and pastry, or one of the gourmet breakfast choices from Your Farm Gate, pull up a seat at a picnic table, and enjoy the music.
The weather looks fantastic this Saturday, and we are looking forward to sharing good food, good friends, and good community with you.
