SupperMarket Wednesday July 12

By | News | No Comments

SupperMarket on Wednesday July 12th is gearing up to be another first-class evening, with our amazingly creative food vendors, wines by Hare Winery and Konzelmann Winery, beer by Oast House and The Exchange, and cider from Lowrey Bros. Remember to bring your own acrylic wine glass from home, or a reusable GoVino glass can be purchased for $2. For the second and final time this season, we have added a bit of a twist to the entertainment.  We welcome Busker Paul Maskell to the stage to delight you!  “He has amused and amazed audiences around the world. His show is a unique blend of charm, zaniness and amazing feats. From the time he makes his entrance until his heart stopping finally, 15 feet in the air, juggling knives, blindfolded, on a uni-cycle. You won’t want to miss a second.”  Come early to get a spot of one of the colourful picnic tables, or stand-up wine barrels, or bring your own chairs and picnic blankets to spread out on the grassy area.   There’s plenty of parking in the lot off of Niven Road; just follow the signs.  SupperMarket is fast becoming the place to celebrate summer and friends.

SupperMarket on Wednesday July 5th is going to be another great community event.  Locals gather to celebrate the wonderful area that we live in with local food, local wine, local beer, and local entertainment.  The wineries on the 5th are Joseph’s and Riverview.  If you purchased your GoVino glass at a prior SupperMarket, be sure to bring it with you.  GoVino glasses are available for a small charge of $2 and we encourage you to bring it back week after week, or bring your own acrylic glass from home.  Also on tap this week are local beers from Silversmith and Oast, and local cider by Ironwood.  SupperMarket on Wednesday July 5th will see the return of crowd favourite Mel Monaco; last season she wowed the audience with her amazing voice, energy, and style.  Arrive early to secure a spot of one of the colourful picnic tables, stand-up barrels, or bring your own chairs and picnic blankets to spread out on the grassy area.   Have some fun with the “Best Dressed Table” competition; stop in at the Market Tent to register (please bring a non-perishable food donation for Newark Neighbours to enter the contest) and deck you table out for a chance to win a fun picnic pack prize.  Remember that there’s plenty of parking in the lot off of Niven Road; just follow the signs.  Good friends, good food, good times.

The Market @ The Village would like to thank the following sponsors: John and Liz Hawley, Wineries of Niagara-on-the-Lake, DF Design Build, & The Town of Niagara on the Lake.  Without the generous support of these wonderful sponsors, this great community event would not be a possibility.

You are in for a special treat at SupperMarket on June 14th!  For the first time, you will be entertained by Kobbler Jay. “He has the energy of ten puppies – with none of the mess. He performs the fastest and most furious apple juggling routine you are ever likely to see, and can gracefully walk barefoot on broken glass while juggling flaming torches. Take all of that and combine it with his talent for tossing knives atop a terrifying tower of tables treacherously teetering on a tube and you end up with a show that you simply cannot miss!”  We are SO looking forward to this alternate entertainment!  You can take in the Kobbler Jay show while dining on gourmet food from one of our outstanding vendors, sipping on wine from Lailey or Pillitteri, beer from Oast or Silversmith, and cider from Ironwood.  SupperMarket runs every Wednesday until September 20th from 4:30pm to 9pm
