SupperMarket Wednesday June 18th

After the disappointing cancellation of last week’s event due to unpredictable weather, tomorrow’s SupperMarket is going to be a fun-filled family-oriented evening.  The gates open at 4:30 pm, and the food vendors will serve up their amazing creations until dusk.  Don’t forget this year we have additional parking off of Niven Road.  Entertainment on the 18th is by Tim Atherton, and we will have wines by Stratus and Chateau des Charmes, and beer by Oast House and Silversmith.  In an effort to cut down on the amount of waste produced, please bring your own acrylic wine glass from home, or you can purchase a reusable GoVino glass for $2.  For updates on potential cancellations due to weather, follow us on FaceBook, Twitter, or visit our website at www.MarketAtTheVillage.ca

Last Saturdays’ Farmers’ Market saw about 55 registrants brave the cold, blustery weather to participate in Heart Niagara’s CPR certification course.  Despite the weather, it turned out to be a fantastic day.  Niagara EMS’s Pedal Angels presented the Market with a public access defibrillator (PAD) which will be placed in one of the businesses in the Village plaza for use by the community in an emergency.  At a cost of $2700 for the placement and training on use of the PAD, the Village businesses are now in fundraising mode.  We will be accepting donations from the public at both Wednesday and Saturday markets over the next couple of weeks.  There will be a donation can for gathering your loose change, or you may wish to make a more sizeable donation towards this worthy cause.  There will be a donation sheet which can be filled out for amounts of $20 or more, and a tax receipt will be issued by Heart Niagara.  Larger donations may be made by cash or cheque.  For more information on making donations, feel free to contact Market Co-Ordinator Sharon Brinsmead-Taylor at notl.market@gmail.com.
