FARMERS’ MARKET ON SATURDAY JUNE 9TH**
Saturday morning’s Farmers’ Market is a laid back, easy way to start off your weekend. Whether you choose to sip on a coffee and munch on a muffin, chow down on a delicious “bowl” or a made-to-order “Egg Thingy”, the picnic area is a great place to catch up with friends while enjoying the music of Tim Atherton on Saturday. Brian from Smooth Edge Sharpening Services will be set up this Saturday, so drop your tools and knives off while you do some shopping. This week, our farmers will have strawberries, asparagus and rhubarb available, along with herbs, microgreens, and early greens. Know your farmer; all produce is grown on local farms; no imported bananas and oranges here at the Market @ The Village! As always, we will have amazing baked goods, award-winning jams, honey, vegetable plants, natural pet care products, medicinal balms and salves, and plants for your garden. When you purchase from The Market @ The Village, you are supporting a local farmer, producer, and your own community. Keep it local!
The social event of the week continues with SupperMarket on June 13th. Ample free parking is available off Niven Road for this fun filled, family friendly evening. Pull up a seat at the picnic tables, and enjoy the lively music of Celtic Duo while dining on gourmet food from one of our outstanding vendors, sipping on wine from Ravine or Pillitteri, beer from Oast or Silversmith, and cider from Lowrey Bros. The “Kids Zone”, sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, DF Design Build, and The Market at the Village will be open from 6-8pm. Please remember to bring a non-perishable food donation for Newark Neighbours when your children enjoy one of our free activities. The Market @ The Village presents our 4th annual Fathers’ Day Weekend Car Show on Saturday June 16th. The Car Show runs from 10 am to 1 pm at the Market site. Free to enter, but with pre-registration and a $10 donation to Newark Neighbours, car owners receive a pre-printed ID sheet and car show dash plaque.
