Today the 350 acre spread is home to a herd of beef cattle, an on-site grist mill and a 15-acre market garden, all expertly managed by Tom & Mary Anne. The Neufeld Family Farm is a proud member of the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario.

“I grow hard red wheat for this mill which isn’t as commonly grown in Niagara as soft red wheat which is what you usually see in the field. Our mill came from Germany and was restored after WWII from a windmill. We went there to buy it when we were there for a wedding in the late 1980s, just after the Wall came down. We run it off our tractor PTO nice and slow so the flour isn’t heated like a modern steel flail mill. In this flour you TRULY get whole grain wheat flour with the hull and wheat germ intact. It will make the finest, healthiest, most fiber filled bread you have ever known. We know because we eat it all the time. De La Terre’s bread is also made with our flour. We have been milling grain for over 20 years.”
