WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS SATURDAY AUGUST 14th
As we head into the last couple of weeks of August, there’s still plenty of action at the Niagara on the Lake Farmers’ Market. This Saturday August 14th will be chock-full of local goodness, with our vendors offering up fresh Niagara fruits and veggies, baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles and preserves, non-alcoholic beverages, gift items, eco friendly products, and of course, breakfast, lunch to go, hot coffee & tea, and other delicious items. No better way to start off your weekend! Stock up for the coming week, and create something special for yourself to enjoy. We have seen some beautiful shiny purple eggplant on our farmers tables. Although eaten as a vegetable, eggplant (also called aubergine or brinjal) is actually an edible fruit. Eggplant is known for its’ “meaty” texture, lending itself well to meat-free main dishes, and has the ability to absorb oils and flavours of accompanying ingredients. For your enjoyment while shopping from our local vendors, we have the pleasure of hosting the very talented Sandra Dam @ the Market. Sandra’s amazing voice and style are definitely worth throwing some change into her guitar case! Sandra will be playing from 9-noon this Saturday.
