JOIN US THIS SATURDAY JULY 2nd FOR CANADA DAY WEEKEND @ THE MARKET
With the beautiful weather now here, don’t forget to stop in at the Saturday morning Farmers’ Market before you head out for the day. This week @ The Market, we welcome the Niagara Pumphouse Arts Centre, holding a Family-Friendly Art Studio for a Canada-themed printmaking art project! Their staff will guide you through the steps of making an etching to create your own relief paint print and provide the materials needed for your artwork. Kick the summer off for the kids with this free event.
Brian from Smooth Edge Sharpening Services will be open, ready to get your knives, scissors and tools ready for gardening an BBQ season. Drop your items off to him, then do some shopping, or enjoy a coffee and the sunshine while you wait.
Our local farmers have their tables full of seasonal produce; what better way to celebrate Niagara’s bounty than with a meal made from fresh local fruits and veggies? With fresh baked goods, hand-tied floral bouquets, and breakfast & coffee, Saturday mornings and the Farmers’ Market go hand-in-hand. Now in season are strawberries, radishes, beets, garlic scapes, lettuce, spinach, chard, microgreens, snap-peas, new potatoes, herbs, and so much more to get creative with in the kitchen. The staples will be available also; naturally raised beef, lamb, pork, chicken, raw dog treats, farm fresh eggs, cheese, local honey, maple syrup, all-natural soda, jams, jellies, marmalades & chutneys, hot sauce, and more. To round out your Market shopping experience, we have antiques, hand-made African baskets, bath, body & home products, and uniquely local t-shirts; there is something for everyone!
Shoppers are welcome to and encouraged to bring their own reusable shopping bags; be kind to our world! For your shopping convenience, we do have an ATM located at the Market entrance. Stop by the Market tent to browse our Cookbook Lending Library and drop off a donation for Newark Neighbours.
Farmers’ Market is open every Saturday morning from 8 am to 1 pm until October 8th, located at 111 Garrison Village Dr (in front of the Garrison House restaurant)
