SupperMarket Opens May 23rd!!

The much-anticipated opening night of the “Original SupperMarket” is set for this Wednesday May 23rd.  After a slow start to spring, the long range forecast looks like Mother Nature is going to show us a little love!  Plan on heading outside and meeting up with friends and neighbours to enjoy mouth-watering fare from one of our 20+ food vendors, accompanied by local beverages.  Most of our vendors are returning from past seasons, with a few hand-picked new vendors, ready to provide us with an assortment of amazing food choices.  And at the SupperMarket, we are all about community!  Local is the main focus- shop local, drink local, support local; we support our local food bank, Newark Neighbours every chance we have.  Our free Kids’ Zone, sponsored by The Market @ The Village, Niagara Inflatables, and Niagara Nature Tours will be open weekly from 6-8pm, providing entertainment for young families.  Niagara Nature tours will be organizing a weekly craft or activity, and the bouncy house will be open to entertain the younger crowd. We just ask that you make a donation of non-perishable food for Newark Neighbours when your children enjoy the bouncy house or partake in a nature activity.

We anticipate a very busy first week, so plan on arriving early to grab a picnic table, one of our many stand-up table barrels, or bring your own picnic blanket.  Park in the lot off of Niven Road for easy access in and out of SupperMarket. On opening night, we are pleased to welcome back local band “Rusty Jacob.” Local wines from Jackson Triggs and Peller Estates, beer by Oast House and Silversmith, and Ironwood Cider will be on tap; remember to bring your own acrylic wine glass from home, or you can purchase a reusable GoVino glass for $2 at the token tent..  SupperMarket runs every Wednesday from May 24th until September 20th from 4:30 to 9pm.

We are actively seeking sponsors for the 2018 season.  As a not-for-profit, every penny that the Market makes, goes back into it, assisting with operating costs, and subsidizing our Farmers’ Market.  We have a number of fantastic opportunities for businesses to make the most of their advertising dollars, and reach the local audience.  If you are interested in finding out more about this advertising opportunity, email Sharon at notl.market@gmail.com
