Maple Blues Award-Winning Blackburn Brothers @ SupperMarket

FARMERS’ MARKET NEWS
With a successful opening week behind us, we look forward another fantastic year at The Market.  Mother Nature sure did cooperate with us!  This Saturday at the Farmers’ Market, you will find vegetable and bedding plants for your garden, fresh rhubarb, strawberries, asparagus, greens, herbs, and a few other early crops.  As the weeks go by, you will be seeing more farmers joining our line-up as their produce ripens.  Being a “true” farmers’ market means 100% local produce sold by our Niagara farmers.  Sometimes this means being a little patient while waiting to eat the best fruit and veggies that Niagara grows.  But it is definitely worth the wait!  As always, jams, jellies, healing salves, fresh cut flowers, baked goods, honey, and much more will be available from our vendors. Our musical entertainment this Saturday is “The Joe Show”.  Grab a cup of coffee and pastry, or an “Egg Thingy” from Sweets & Swirls Cafe, pull up a seat at a picnic table, and enjoy the music and sense of community.

SupperMarket on Wednesday June 6th is going to be spectacular!  The evening will be dedicated to a celebration of the Voices of Freedom Regent Street Park.  The park, which will be located on the former NOTL Lawn Bowling property, will be experienced by residents and visitors from around the world.  Voices of Freedom Park will bring awareness and appreciation for the Town of Niagara on the Lake’s significant Black history.  To celebrate, the Maple Blues Award-winning and Juno-nominated Blackburn Brothers, whose family roots trace back to the Underground Railroad, will take the stage for this special evening. Our guests can enjoy this special musical performance while dining on creatively delicious  foods, prepared by our wonderful vendors. Strewn and Rancourt wineries, and Silversmith and The Exchange breweries, and Ironwood Cider will be ready to quench your thirst.  The Niagara on the Lake SupperMarket supports our local food bank Newark Neighbours.  We ask that you bring a non-perishable food donation if your children are enjoying the activities in the free Kid’s Zone, which operates weekly from 6-8pm and is sponsored by Niagara Inflatables, Niagara Nature Tours, DF Design Build, and The Market @ The Village.
Looking forward to seeing everyone come out to share good food, good drinks, and good community.  The Market is located at 111 Garrison Village Drive in Niagara-on-the-Lake (across from The Garrison House)
