Final SupperMarket of 2019

IMG_2888SUPPERMARKET WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH

The last SupperMarket of 2019 will be held on Wednesday September 18th, from 4:30-8pm (we will be closing early on the last evening)  As always, our amazing food vendors will be outdoing themselves, serving up a fantastic array of locally inspired foods.  There really is something to please everyone’s palate at the Niagara on the Lake SupperMarket!  On the 18th, we welcome Joseph’s and Trius wineries, Silversmith and Oast breweries, and Ironwood cider. The PubJugs are the closing act for 2019; always a fun evening when they play!  And the free (with a non-perishable food donation to Newark Neighbours) “Kid’s Zone” will be set up to entertain the younger crowd one last time.  The SupperMarket would like to thank Niagara Inflatables and Niagara Nature Tours for their participation this season, and DF Design Build for sponsoring the Kids Zone. The kids (and parents) really enjoyed the family atmosphere these Niagara businesses helped to create. Be sure to join us on the 18th. The Meridian Credit Union Vendors’ MarketPlace will be full of vendors on the last evening also.  Don’t miss out on the last gathering of the season!

We are busy preparing for next season, and have some new and exciting things planned.  If you know of a farmer, producer, or artisan that would be interested in participating in the 2020 Farmers’ Market or SupperMarket, send an email to notl.market@gmail.com to be added to the information email list.

FARMERS’ MARKET SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21st

With warm, sunny weather forecast for this first weekend of Autumn, stop by on Saturday morning for a coffee and breakfast or pastry, and pick up your fresh produce for the week.  You will see by the farmers’ tables that September in Niagara is by far one of the best harvest months.  Available for purchase are grapes, apples, pears, microgreens, herbs, beets, garlic, eggplant, zucchini, potatoes, and much, much more.  Nothing tastes as good as farm to table food! Always available are a wide variety of jams and jellies, pickles, baked goods, maple syrup, local honey, and other items to make week-day meal planning a cinch. We have live music by Tim Atherton from 9am-1pm. Next Saturday September 29th, we are pleased that the Etsy: Made in Canada Niagara artisan show will be held at the Farmers’ Market; what a great opportunity to get a head-start on Christmas shopping! Farmers’ Market will run every Saturday until October 5th 8am to 1pm.

The Market @ The Village would not be a possibility without the generous support of our sponsors.   A huge thank you goes out to John and Liz Hawley, The Shaw Festival, Meridian Credit Union Virgil, Allstate Insurance St. Catharines, Niagara on the Lake Realty, Wineries of Niagara on the Lake, DF Design Build, and The Town of Niagara on the Lake. These fantastic community partners, in addition to our amazing staff, volunteers, vendors, and the support from our community make it all happen!
